History

Founded by Eng. Alejandro Álvarez Guerrero, a pioneer of this industry in our country, the company has had a great development that it is now considered among the three more important in the nation.Visión por Cable de México (direct antecedent of Cablemás) starts in 1968 its cable TV operation in Tijuana. By 1970 the service is released in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco through Cía. TV por Cable, and between 1974 and 1975 Cablemex incorporates the the activity the cities of Ocotlán, Jal. Cd. Valles, S.L.P. and Cd. Mante, Tamaulipas.

In order to aggregate this companies in one single administration, in 1976 it is constituted the group TV por Cable Nacional, achieving centralized and standard operation of the different concessions. In the same year Cable Tula, in Tula de Allende, Hidalgo is incorporated. In this new administration it is undertaken the construction of the nets for Iguala, Gro.; Ensenada, Mexicali and Tecate in Baja California; and the cable systems of Chichuahua, Delicias, Cuauhtémoc, Camargo and Ciudad Juáurez in the state of Chihuahua, and Minatitlán in Veracruz.

With this incorporations, in 1990 the so far formed Grupo Telecable continues with the management by Alejandro Álvarez Guerrero becoming one of the most important in the country.

Last decade represents an accelarated development period for the industry and thereby for Grupo Telecable, which begins to be identified as leader in the sharp technology implementation.

In 1995, Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz is incorporated. And in 1997, a big step of merchandise level is taken when it gets to be known with the comercial name Cablemás, with this name are until this moment identified all the concessions that form the group.

Cablemás closes with strength the 20 century getting to have 46 grants with the incorporation of Grupo Megapo in 2003, a supplier in the south part of the country.
And fulfilling with its tradition of a well avantguard and innovative enterprise in telecomunication, actually offers through Cablered an option of access to Internet by cable, stating the bases to become a broadband supplier leader in Mexico.
